Investors In Peoples Standard
Huria Management Trust is one of five organisations within Tauranga Moana affiliated to the Poutiri Network of Health Providers that formed a Pilot to undergo an initial assessment against the Investors In Peoples Standard February 2002. In August 2003 Huria Management Trust was recognised as meeting the International Standard for effective Investors In People.
The Investors In People standards is defined by twelve indicators and associated evidence requirements that an organisation must meet to be recognised as an Investors In People. It means improving people's performance through a planned approach to setting and communicating organisational goals and developing people to meet these goals so that what people can do, and are motivated to do, matches what the organisation needs them to do.
The IIP standard is made up of four underlying principles:
Commitment – An Investors in People is fully committed to developing its people in order to achieve its aims and objects
Planning – An Investors in People is clear about its aims and its objectives and what its people need to do to achieve them
Action – An Investors in People develops its people effectively in order to improve its performance
Evaluation – An Investors in People understands the impact of its investment in people on its performance
